Hong Kong Quality Admission Scheme

THE QUALITY MIGRANT ADMISSION SCHEME, OR THE GIFTED ADMISSION SCHEME, IS A SCHEME LAUNCHED BY THE HONG KONG SAR GOVERNMENT TO ATTRACT HIGHLY SKILLED OR TALENTED PEOPLE TO SETTLE IN HONG KONG WITH A VIEW TO ENHANCING HONG KONG'S COMPETITIVENESS. It was announced on February 23, 2006 and officially launched in June 2006. The annual quota of the Scheme has been increased from 2,000 places per year to 4,000 places per year, and approved applicants are not required to obtain an appointment from a local employer before coming to Hong Kong.
